Samsung's First "Always Connected" 2-in-1 Laptop with Qualcomm Chipset Announced

Samsung Galaxy Book2 with S Pen

Update: It will be available at Samsung, Microsoft, and AT&T online stores from November 2nd.

At the IFA event few weeks ago Lenovo introduced the first laptop to be powered Qualcomm's Snapdragon 850, today, Samsung has announced its first "Always-Connected" PC in partnership with Qualcomm, the Galaxy Book2. This brings the Snapdragon 850 SoC to a compact 2-in-1 connected device.

Much like other "Always Connected" PCs introduced by other brand (Asus and Lenovo comes to mind), the Galaxy Book2 can deliver outstanding battery life, up to 20 hours in S Mode - thanks to its power efficient octa-core chipset, which runs at a speed of 2.96GHz.

The device has a 12-inch Full HD+ (2160x1440) Super AMOLED touchscreen display with supports for S Pen stylus. The S Pen is included in the box. The Galaxy Book2 comes bundled with a detachable keyboard with trackpad as well.

The Qualcomm chipset powering the device brings onboard the Snapdragon X20 LTE Modem (Cat. 18 / 4x4 MIMO) for fast internet browsing. Moving on, the 2-in-1 sports an 8MP rear-facing camera and a 5MP front camera. It runs the lite Windows 10 S. The built-in fingerprint sensor present on the laptop let users login using Windows Hello biometric security.

For entertainment, the Galaxy Book2 speakers are tuned by AKG, and it also supports Dolby Atmos. Connectivity options provided are 2x USB Type-C ports, WiFi 802.11ac (dual band), MicroSD card reader, VHT80, and 3.5mm audio jack. Samsung is offering the device in 4GB RAM/128GB storage option only.

The Galaxy Book2 wears a price label of $999.99. It will be available in the U.S at AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon stores later this month. Online sales will begin on November 2nd.
