Microsoft has announced a new range of its "Surface" devices including the company's first premium headphones at an event held on Tuesday. The device namely; Surface Pro 6 (2018), Surface Laptop 2, and Surface Studio 2, are the upgrades of the last year models featuring more powerful 8th Gen Intel CPUs for intensive tasks. The Surface Headphones is the latest (and probably the newest) to join the Surface family.

The Surface Pro 6 (2018) is powered by an 8th-generation Intel Quad Core processor, which should offer a significant improvement (Microsoft claimed it is 67% faster) over the 7th-generation that powered the last year model. Moreover, this comes in a new Black color option.

The Surface Laptop 2 experienced a few upgrade when compared with its predecessor. It packed an 8th-Gen Intel Quad Core processor (which is the major highlight) and comes in a new Black color option in addition to the previously available Platinum, Burgundy, and Cobalt Blue colors on its predecessor. Sound is pushed out through the onboard OmniSonic speakers.

The Surface Studio has been one of the corner stone of achievement for Microsoft since its debut in 2016 and the new 2018 model is here to build on that. Physically and structurally nothing have changed, but this offers 50% more graphics performance according to Microsoft.

Apart from the processor (up from 6th Gen to 7th Gen Intel CPU) and graphics upgrade, the Surface Studio 2 now supports USB Type-C to meet with today's standard, which will be awesomely welcome by many.

To put the 28" PixelSense display (nothing has changed) into better use, the accompanied Surface Pen has been improved and it now supports tilt sensitivity in addition to its 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity. Built-in XBox Wireless feature is not missing.

Surface Headphones

The Surface Headphones is focused on one thing—smart. It is aimed to get things done quickly, and smartly. As you could expect, it comes pre-loaded with Microsoft virtual assistant Cortana, which will help users with various cores such as reading emails, messages and more. The smartness it offer extend to its ability to pause or play music when removed from the ears.

The new Microsoft headphones also have adjustable noise cancellation for immersive listening experience. Technically, it features 40 mm Free Edge drivers that deliver rich audio with hands-free supports. It has a USB-C port, but users can also paired it with supported peripheral devices via the onboard 3.5mm audio jack. Battery life is claimed to be 15 hours.

The 2018 Surface device is already available for pre-order on Microsoft eStore, except the Surface Headphones, which will be available later this year. Shipping for the Surface Pro 6 (2018) and Surface Laptop 2 will begin on October 16th, while the Surface Studio 2 will shipped on November 15th.
