BQ Aquaris X2, Aquaris X2 Pro Android One Smartphones Launched in Europe

BQ Aquaris X2 and X2 Pro

The European-based technology firm BQ, has introduced two new smartphones running Google's Android One software, the Aquaris X2 and Aquaris X2 Pro. Both features decent specs at an attractive price. The Aquaris X2 has a plastic back with aluminium frame and is offered in Sand Gold and Carbon Black colors, while the Pro model is covered with glass on the front and back and is painted in Midnight Black, Deep Silver and Glaze White colors.

The phones are identical in specs with the only difference being the processor they packed on the inside. The Aquaris X2 and X2 Pro features Corning Gorilla Glass protected 5.65-inch Full HD+ (2160x1080) IPS display with 18:9 aspect ratio; the first packing an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset clocked at 1.8GHz with Adreno 509 GPU, while the later is powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset coupled with Adreno 512 GPU.

The memory configuration for the base model is 3GB RAM/32GB storage and 4GB RAM/64GB storage, but the Pro model comes bundled with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Their similarities continues in photography with both sporting 12MP+5MP dual rear-facing camera with f/1.8 aperture and twin-tone LED flash; below these is a fingerprint sensor. The front cameras included on the device, according to the firm, uses SoftNeuro™ patented technology that can detects and isolates figures, differentiate the background from the foreground to create a bokeh effect.

In terms of connectivity, the phones supports Bluetooth, WiFi, 4G LTE, 3G, and GPS. A 3100mAh battery powered the new BQ smartphones with supports of Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+.

The BQ Aquaris X2 pricing starts at €309.90 ($368) for the basic version with 3GB RAM/32GB storage, and the Aquaris X2 Pro at €389.90 ($464) for the 4GB RAM/64GB storage version. Pricing of the 6GB RAM/128GB storage version of the Aquaris X2 Pro is not revealed.
