Lava Mobile Board Android Go in India with Z50

Lava Z50

The Indian tech firm Lava, today has announced its first Android Go Edition smartphone, Z50, for Indian customers. The entry-level device, which undoubtedly is here to compete with HMD Global Nokia 1 in India will be available in mid-March 2018, but there is no word on pricing yet. Also, the complete specifications of the device is still a mystery at this time, but Lava does reveal a tad of what to be expected.

The device runs Android 8.1 Oreo (Android Go) out-of-the-box and supports 4G VoLTE on one of its dual SIM slots. It features a Corning Gorilla protected 4.5-inch FWVGA (854x480) 2.5D curved glass display and it is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6737M 64-bit processor running at a speed of 1.1GHz, clubbed with Mali-T720 GPU. The Z50 will efficiently run on 1GB of RAM (thanks to Android Go) and there is an 8GB of storage inside for hosting files with MicroSD slot provided for additional storage.

A 5-megapixel autofocus camera resides at the back with LED flash for lighting, while a 5-megapixel camera is at the front for taking selfie, also accompanied with a LED flash. Bluetooth, WiFi, 3G, GPS and Micro-USB are onboard for connectivity apart from 4G VoLTE.

We should have more details when it is about to go on sale.
