The French technology company, ARCHOS, ahead of MWC event that is scheduled to begin next week in Barcelona has announced an Android-powered electric scooter dubbed Citee Connect. The scooter is claimed by the company to be world's first to be fully powered by Google's Android operating system. It is designed and manufactured in France.

A 5.0-inch touch-sensitive display act as the motherdashboard where all functions are being controlled. This is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass and it is shockproof and water resistance as well for durability for outdoor occasions. ARCHOS also said the dashboard is protected against bad weather. The Citee Connect multimedia dashboard (as ARCHOS called it) runs Android 8.0 Oreo, pre-programmed with app that shows speed, distance covered as well as remaining battery in real-time.

The Android OS gives users the privilege to use the dashboard for other purposes, including downloading and running extra applications, thanks to WiFi and 3G connectivity present, which makes us believe that the scooter does have a SIM card slot. There is also GPS onboard for navigation. The dashboard itself is powered by an unspecified quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of inbuilt storage, which is accessible to users for use.

The Citee Connect has a peak speed of 25km/h, thanks to its 350W motor, which is being fuelled by a 6000mAh rechargeable battery. The battery charging time hovers between 2 hours and 3 hours when docked. Moreover, Energy Recovery System (ERS) embedded into the scooter disk brake also charges the battery mechanically whenever brake is applied when on the road.

ARCHOS will be selling the Citee Connect in the summer for €499.99 (US$615). It will also showcase the scooter at MWC next week.

Alongside with the Citee Connect, the firm also launched Citee Power and Citee, both lacking Android identity.
