Micromax during the weekend launched a new smartphone in India called Selfie 2, the "Selfie" in its naming implying its budget 8MP wide-angle front camera with f/2.0 aperture that can capture group selfie. The front shooter is accompanied with a LED flash for lighting in low-light.

In terms of specifications, the device features a 5-inch IPS 2.5D curved glass display with a pixel resolution of 1280x720 and a pixel density of 294ppi. Under the hood is a quad-core MediaTek MT6737 chipset running at a speed of 1.3GHz, slammed with Mali-T720 GPU for graphics and 3GB of RAM for good multitasking. It comes with a 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded via MicroSD card (up to 32GB).

The Selfie 2 runs Android 7.0 Nougat and has a dedicated dual SIM slots with dual standby. It also have a fingerprint sensor at the back. Apart from its 8-megapixel front camera, the phone also has a 13-megapixel autofocus camera at the back with f/2.0 aperture and Sony IMX318 sensor, with a single LED flash sitting besides it as well. Connectivity options onboard includes 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi, 3G, 2G, GPS/A-GPS, FM radio, and Micro-USB. It is turned on by a 3000mAh battery.

The Micromax Selfie 2 comes in Black color variant only. It will be available at select stores across India for Rs 9,999 ($150) starting from Tuesday August 1.
