Sony Xperia L1 with Android 7.0 Nougat, USB Type-C Announced

Sony has made a new addition to its Xperia smartphone series named Xperia L1. The entry-level device is clad in a stylish rectangular-shaped body with near bezel-less edge-to-edge display, an aesthetic design known with the company's premium line-up.

The phone features a 5.5-inch capacitive touch display with a HD resolution of 1280x720 pixel, flaunting a pixel density of 267ppi. It is powered by a 64-bit quad-core MediaTek MT6737T processor with a clock speed of 1.45GHz, paired with 2GB of RAM and Mali-T720 GPU. There is a 16GB of storage inside, which can be further expanded up to 256GB via MicroSD card.

Despite its low specs, the Xperia L1 manage to runs Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box. It also comes with a USB Type-C port and supports NFC. In optics, it bears a 13-megapixel autofocus camera with f/2.2 aperture and LED flash at the rear, while a 5-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture is tagged to the front for selfie and video-calling.

Other connectivity options the smartphone offers are Bluetooth 4.2 (+aptX), WiFi, 4G LTE, 3G, GPS/A-GPS, and GLONASS. It measures 151x74x8.7mm; weighs 180 grams, and is backed by a 2,620mAh battery with Qnovo Adaptive Charging.

The Sony Xperia L1 will be available in White, Pink, and Black colours, and may come in Single SIM and dual SIM variants depending on region. No words on pricing and availability yet.
