ZTE Hawkeye: ZTE Project CSX Phone with Eye Tracking Specs Revealed

ZTE at Consumer Electronic Show earlier this month showcased a new handheld device with eye tracking technology based on Project CSX, the Hawkeye, running Android 7.0 Nougat. The phone was teased as a prototype at the event and its specs was not revealed. Now, the company has open up and have publicly made known the specs its new high-tech smartphone will be boasting of.

The ZTE Hawkeye main field of attraction is its eye tracking technology that can recognize eye movement, enabling users to easily navigate around the phone with just their eye. At a distance as far as 3-line range, an user can scroll up and down, left and right with the move of his eye. The phone also has an adhesive case that can be stick to a vertical surface.

Another notable feature are dual cameras it packs behind, the first claiming a 13-megapixel sensor and the second a 12-megapixel sensor, accompanied with twin-tone LED flash. There is also an 8-megapixel camera at the front for taking selfie.

Other features included are 5.5-inch full-HD (1920x1080) display, 2.0GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 chipset with 3GB RAM, and 32GB built-in storage with MicroSD expansion slot. The ZTE Hawkeye offers 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi 802.11ac (dual band), GPS, NFC, USB Type-C, and 3.5mm audio jack as connectivity options, and is backed by a 3,000mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge.

To source for funds, the Hawkeye is currently on crowdfunding site Kickstarter and is available for pre-orders at US$199.99. It will start shipping from September 2017. ZTE is also giving people the choice to select colors and materials for the phone by voting on its site.
