Lava has introduced a new budget smartphone to its mid-range in India dubbed V2s. The device wears a price cap of Rs 7,899 ($115 USD) and is available at popular third-party online stores across the region.

The Lava V2s features a 5-inch IPS display, flaunting a pixel resolution of 1280x720 and pixel density of 294ppi. It supports dual SIM and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box, which will be upgradable to Android 6.0 Marshmallow later, claimed the firm. Diving in, it is powered by a 64-bit quad-core MediaTek 6735P processor clocked at 1.0GHz, slammed with 2GB of RAM and Mali-T720 GPU.

An 8GB of built-in storage is included, which can be further expanded via MicroSD card. At the rear, the Lava V2s sports an 8-megapixel camera with a LED flash, while a secondary 8-megapixel camera sits at the front, also accompanied with a LED flash. Connectivity options onboard are Bluetooth 4.0, Wifi with Hotspot, 4G LTE, 3G, 2G, GPS, FM radio and Micro-USB. A 2,500mAh battery turn it on.

Lava on Thursday launched A52, an entry-level smartphone with Android 5.1 Lollipop and 3G connectivity in India, priced at Rs 3,599 ($52). However, the company is yet to reveal its availability details.
