Oppo today has announced A53, its latest mid-budget smartphone in China. While its pricing is yet to be revealed, the phone is expected to go on sale later this month. No word on availability outside China.

The Oppo A53 is wrapped in a slim aluminium body that has a mere thickness of 7.43mm and an overall weightness of 165 grams. It features a 5.5-inch IPS curved 2.5D display with a HD resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, touting a pixel density of 268ppi. The device is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor clocked at 1.5GHz, alongside with 2GB of RAM and Adreno 405 GPU. There is a 16GB of built-in storage onboard, which is further expandable via MicroSD card (up to 128GB).

The Oppo A53 runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box topped with Color OS 2.1 and has hybrid dual SIM slots that enables the second SIM slot to be use as MicroSD card slot. At the rear, it is equipped with a 13-megapixel camera accompanied with LED flash, while it packs a 5-megapixel camera at the front. Connectivity options included are Bluetooth 4.0, Wifi, 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, 2G, GPS and Micro-USB. It is on by a 3075mAh battery with fast charging support.

Last week, Oppo < href="" style="color:blue">launched A33 in China which features 5-inch qHD display, has 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor with 2GB RAM, and a built-in storage 16GB. The device was listed on the firm webpage with a price tag of CN¥ 1499 ($234 USD).
