Intex on Thursday launched a new entry-level smartphone in India, Aqua Play, priced at Rs 3,249 (approx $50 USD). No word on availability yet, but we expect the device to go on sale next week.

Notably, the Intex Aqua Play runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box and has two SIM slots with support of 3G, making it one of the cheapest Lollipop smartphone with 3G in India right now. It features a 4-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, and packs a dual-core MediaTek MT6572W processor clocked at 1.2GHz alongside with 512MB of RAM.

There is an 8GB of built-in storage onboard, which is further expandable up to 32GB via MicroSD card. It houses a 0.3-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and a secondary 0.3-megapixel front camera for video calling. Connectivity options included besides 3G are Bluetooth 4.0, Wifi, GPRS/EDGE, aGPS, FM radio, and Micro-USB. The Aqua Play is on by a 1400mAh battery.

In Nigeria right now, the cheapest Lollipop smartphone you can get is Infinix Hot 2 X510, which costs #19,500 (approx $98 USD).
