LG Unveils G Pad II 8.0 Lollipop Tablet With Stylus Pen, 32GB Storage

LG on Monday added a new high-budget tablet to its G Pad series in Korea named G Pad II 8.0. The device is listed on the firm webpage along with its specifications but its pricing and availability is not mentioned. The LTE variant named G Pad II 8.0 LTE is also expected to be announce very soon.

The new LG G Pad II 8.0 is an upgraded variant and the successor of G Pad 8.0 that was launched alongside with G Pad 7.0 and G Pad 10.1 in May last year. It comes with a more enhanced Stylus pen that measure just 3.5mm in diameter, which is slimmer when compared with the Stylus that comes with its predecessor.

Specwise, the G Pad II 8.0 features an 8-inch IPS capacitive touch display with WXGA (1280x800 pixels) resolution, and it runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box with LG Q-Pair 2.0 sitting on top. It is driven by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.2GHz. The RAM has been increased from 1GB on previous G Pad series to 1.5GB.

The G Pad II 8.0 housed a 32GB built-in eMMC storage with no word on external storage support. LG is still witholding the camera details, so we don't know the exact megapixels the device packs at the front and back. In connectivity aspect, the tablet supports Bluetooth 4.0, Wifi, GPS, and a full-sized USB 2.0 port. Microsoft Office apps comes pre-loaded and it also have LG proprietary KnockON feature that let users wake the display by just tapping the screen.

It is fuelled by a 4,300mAh battery.
