Lava Launches Iris X1 Atom S With 8GB Storage, Android 4.4 KitKat

Lava on Monday launched a new low-budget smartphone to its Iris category in India, the Iris X1 Atom S. The device carries a price tag of Rs 4,149 (Roughly $65 USD) and will be available before this week ends.

The Lava Iris X1 Atom S is a successor of Iris X1 Atom that was launched in April. In comparison, its specifications are much lower than its predecessor but they both sports similar design on the outside.

The smartphone offers dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) functionality and runs Android 4.4 KitKat OS. It features a 4-inch TFT display at the front with WVGA (800×480 pixels) resolution and packs a 1GHz single-core processor (unspecified) slammed with 512MB of RAM on the inside.

The Iris X1 Atom S bears a 4GB of built-in storage that can be further expanded up to 32GB via MicroSD and offers Bluetooth, Wifi, GPRS/EDGE, 3G, and Micro-USB as connectivity options. At the rear, the phone is equipped with a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash while a secondary VGA camera is placed at the front.

A 1400mAh battery turn on the device. The Lava Iris X1 Atom S is skinned in White and Black colors.
