Oppo R7, R7 Plus

Oppo has finally took the wrap off its new budget smartphones in China, the Oppo R7 and Oppo R7 Plus. The device are split into two variants, Global version and Chinese version with different specifications. In general, the Oppo R7 cost CNY 2,499 ($405 USD) while Oppo R7 Plus is priced at CNY 2,999 ($486 USD). When the gadgets will hit international market is not yet known but it'll be available starting from May 21 in China.

The Oppo R7 features a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) Super AMOLED display protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 but runs the dated Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box topped with the firm Color OS 2.1, which we believe will be upgradeable to Android 5.0 Lollipop later on.

The chinese version is powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6752 processor while the global version packs an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, both slammed with 3GB of RAM. There is a 16GB of built-in storage onboard which is expandable up to 128GB via MicroSD card.

The Oppo R7 offers dual-SIM functionality with Hybrid technology, making it possible to use second SIM slot as external storage. It houses a 13-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, Sony IMX214 sensor and LED flash while it bears an 8-megapixel selfie-enable camera at the front. Connectivity options include Wifi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, 4G LTE, 3G (HSPA+), GPS/A-GPS, and USB OTG. It is backed by a 2320mAh battery with quick charging technology.

On the other hand, the Oppo R7 Plus features a larger 6-inch Super AMOLED display flaunting a full-HD resolution with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Its chinese version is driven by an octa-core MediaTek MT6795 processor while the global variant packs an octa-core Snapdragon 615 chipset, all backed with 3GB of RAM. It includes a 16GB of built-in storage with eternal storage support and offers hybrid dual-SIM slots.

At the rear, the Oppo R7 Plus is equipped with a 13-megapixel autofocus camera with Sony IMX214 sensor and twin-LED flash while it houses an 8-megapixel front shooter. Unlike R7, the Oppo R7 Plus runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box with Color OS 2.1 and packs a fingerprint sensor at the rear for smart protection.

Connectivity options remain the same with R7, it is backed by a 4100mAh battery with quick charging.
