Gionee is working on a new smartphone to unleash before Q4 of this year. The phone dubbed as Gionee M5 was spotted online earlier this week touting a feature that is yet to circulate in mobile kingdom. We didn't mind it at first as many devices surface online everyday and not all make it to see the light of day, but something happened that change our mind.

After few days of its appearance online, the Gionee M5 was spotted passing through TENAA for certification. This indeed proves that the phone is about arrive and it is real. What makes Gionee M5 worth the talk? Well, only one thing does (we think) and that is its battery life.

The Gionee M5 as listed will packs a huge 6000mAh battery, the like of which is seen on Innos D6000 that was recently launched in China. Gionee uses same technology Innos used, combining two battery cells to achieve high battery capacity. This pushes battery life further beyond miniature range, providing up to 4-5 days of heavy use.

Other specifications you can expect Gionee M5 to deliver are 5.5-inch HD (720p) AMOLED display, 8-megapixel rear camera, and 5-megapixel front camera, while Android 5.0 Lollipop will be onboard to drive all softwares to their destination. Chipset and RAM it will pack along are yet to be disclose.

While Innos D6000 may not cross China border, the Gionee M5 may launch globally and that's worth the wait. We expect LG, Samsung, Motorola and other phone manufacturing firm to join the queue in adapting this new cell structure for optimum battery life (don't tell them we say so).
