Lava has launched a new budget smartphone in India. The firm on Monday via blog post announced the Iris Fuel 20 which packs a huge 4400mAh battery making it one of the cheapest low cost smartphone to offer an extra-ordinary battery life.

The "Fuel" series are best known for their high-rated battery capacity, this include the Iris Fuel 50 which was the first to set the pace last year closely followed by Iris Fuel 60. The Iris Fuel 20 is the youngest in the group and its specs are a bit low when compare with others.

The smartphone features a 5-inch FWVGA (480x854) IPS display and runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box. It support dual-SIM with dual standby but lacks 3G. Under the hood, the Iris Fuel 20 is driven by a dual-core processor (probably MediaTek) clocked at 1.3GHz alongside with 512MB of RAM.

It comes with a 4GB built-in storage that can be expanded up to 32GB via MicroSD card and offers Wifi, Bluetooth, GPRS/EDGE, and Micro-USB as connectivity options. The device sports a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, capable of recording HD (720p) videos while it also touts a 0.3-megapixel front camera for video calling.

The Lava Iris Fuel 20 is priced at Rs 5,399 ($87 USD) and will be available in two different colours, Metallic Grey and White.
