Lava has launched a new lost cost Android smartphone in India, the Iris 500. The phone is listed on the company website at Rs 5,499 (Roughly $90 US Dollars, NGN 15,000 Nigerian Nairas) without availability details.

The Lava Iris 500 features a 5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 480x854 pixels. It support dual-SIM functionality and runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box. The smartphone is driven by a dual-core processor (unknown chipset), clocked at 1.3GHz along with 512MB of RAM.
According to listing, the Iris 500 sports a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and also houses a secondary VGA front camera. The primary camera features Burst mode, Panorama, Geo tagging, HDR and Face detection. There's 4GB built-in storage onboard that is expandable up to 32GB via MicroSD card.
On the connectivity front, the Iris 500 support Wifi, Bluetooth, GPRS and Micro-USB. It is backed by an 1,800mAh battery.
Last month, the firm launched Iris Fuel 50 at Rs 7,799 in India (approximately $130, NGN 21,100). The smartphone packs a 3,000mAh battery which delivers up to 13 hours of talk time on 3G.
