Google has introduced a new way for users to authenticate and secure their account without having to use password or pass through 2-step verification.

The new innovation called Google Security Key is a USB plug-in that can be insert into USB port to authenticate log-ins. According to the firm, this provide more security and cannot be bypass or manipulate by advanced-hackers because it uses cryptography in authenticating sign-in process. Using the key also eases the need of receiving codes via text messages and email for verification purpose.

The disadvantages for now is it only works on Chrome browser, other internet browsers like Internet Explorer, Opera and Mozilla are not supported. Another downside is it only works on site that is specifically design to work with.

The Google Security Key is available for purchase on Amazon store, it only cost $5.99 (NGN 970).
