Microsoft Explorer Touch Mouse Review

Microsoft's wireless Explorer Touch Mouse

Microsoft's wireless Explorer Touch Mouse combines the company's accurate BlueTrack optical technology, which allows the mouse to be used on virtually any surface and, instead of a mouse wheel, what Microsoft calls Touch Scrolling. You simply brush your finger along the scroll pad to scroll the page.

This can take a bit of getting used to, but haptic feedback gives you a good sense of how far and fast you're scrolling and there's no danger of the scroll pad becoming clogged over time.

Clicking on the scroll pad at the top, middle and at the bottom performs different functions which you can assign using Microsoft's supplied configuration software. The mouse is small but comfortable to use and we liked the compact wireless receiver, which clips into the underside of the mouse. If you want a small and elegant pointing device, particularly for use with a laptop, the Explorer Touch is great.
