Samsung Galaxy J2 2017

Samsung has silently unveiled a new Galaxy smartphone in India. The Galaxy J2 (2017) as called, is listed on the company website but without pricing and availability details. It is here to take on the 2016 model.

In terms of specifications, the new Galaxy J2 (2017) with the model number SM-J200G has been greatly downgraded when compared with its predecessor. The display has been lowered from 5-inch to 4.7-inch and the resolution from HD (720p) to qHD (540p). This is powered by an unspecified 1.3GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM (the 2016 model has 1.5GB of RAM), and there is an 8GB of expandable storage inside with 4.3GB available for users.

At the rear is an 8-megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash, while a 2-megapixel camera sits at the front for taking selfie. The Galaxy J2 (2017) inherits the Ultra Data Saving mode (UDS) that minimize data consumption by up to 50-percent when surfing the net or accessing online contents. The phone is also touting a new feature dubbed Smart Manager, which auto cleans up memory thereby providing space for what is most important.

It runs Android OS though the exact version is yet to be known; supports dual SIM, and is backed by a 2000mAh removable battery which is 600mAh lesser than what its predecessor packed.
