Apple Watch Series 3 with WatchOS 4 and Electronic SIM Becomes Official

Apple Watch Series 3

Apple does not only unveiled three iOS smartphones at its event earlier, but also launched a new edition of its smartwatch dubbed Watch Series 3, the company's third smartwatch since its very existence. It has nearly identical design as Watch Series 2 its predecessor, but this is made available in two different models. The first model has cellular and GPS features, while the second model supports GPS only.

With cellular access provided on the first model, users will be able to make/receive phone calls and send/receive text messages without pairing the wrist-worn with their iPhones. The Watch Series 3 uses an electronic SIM, which gives users the flexibility to use the same number as the ones on their existing iPhones. Moreover, the cellular feature also pave way in accessing, downloading or streaming contents without the need of pairing with an external device for data connection. This means you can access Apple Music directly.

In technicalities, the Watch Series 3 is said by Apple to offer 70-percent improved performance via its new dual-core processor, while there is also an 80-percent performance increase in WiFi and 50-percent increase in Bluetooth connectivity, thanks to the new W2 wireless chip. Navigation can be done by tapping the watch touchscreen or by simply using the crown button located on its right side.

Apple latest smartwatch brings a whole new level of experience in software aspect. With the new watchOS 4 comes new watch faces, improved Siri (Siri can now talk on your wrist!), and loads of new softwares. The heart rate app has been fine-tune to give more insight and measurement in daily activities such as during walk, workout, resting and breathe sessions.

The Watch Series 3 is swim proof and it can renders up to 18 hours of use in a single charge. The Cellular model will costs $399 and the GPS model $329 in the U.S. Pre-orders for the smartwatch will kick-start on Friday September 15th while it will go on sale on September 22nd.
