8th Gen Intel Core i Series Made Official, Offers 40% Improved Performance

Intel-8th-Gen-Core-i3-i5-i7

Intel today launched the eight-generation of its Core i5 and Core i7 processors series with improved specs in speed and computing power. The newly unveiled 8th Gen Core processors according to the firm offers 40-percent performance increase in multitasking when compared with 7th Gen Core i5/i7 series and up to 2.3x when compared five years old system.

The newly sheltered chipsets wearing the 8th Gen family crest are i5-8250U, i5-8350U, i7-8550U and i7-8650U, all based on 14nm+ process, having a TDP of 15W. These are made for ultra-thin and 2-in-1 notebooks, offering 4-core (quad-core) and eight threads (via Hyper-Threading). 8th Gen processors for desktops and AIO codename "Coffee Lake" will launch later this year.

The 8th Gen Core i series will start rolling out from September, which is next month. Coffee Lake will arrive this fall.
