YU is back with YUREKA BLACK, Launches in India with Rs 8999 Price Tag

After what seems to be a long nap, Micromax subsidiary company "YU" is back to disrupt India market once again with a new mid-end smartphone called YUREKA BLACK. The phone will be available exclusively on e-commerce site FlipKart starting from 6th of June with Rs 8999 (US$135) price tag attached to it.

In terms of specifications, the YUREKA BLACK features a 5.0-inch IPS 2.5D curved glass display with full-HD (1920x1080 pixel) resolution and 441ppi pixel density, protected on the surface with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 against scratch. An octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor with 1.5GHz clock speed drives it on the inside, paired with 4GB of RAM and Adreno 505 GPU. For offline hosting of files and data, a 32GB of storage is placed inside with MicroSD slot waiting on the outside to accommodates additional storage.

Moving on, the smartphone has a fingerprint scanner on top of the physical home button for smart unlocking. There is hybrid dual SIM slots onboard for dual use both of which supports 4G VoLTE. Disappointingly, the YUREKA BLACK runs the dated Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box but YU promised Android Nougat update shortly after it go on sale.

In optics, the device sports a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), Sony IMX258 sensor and twin-LED flash, capable of recording 1080p video, while an 8-megapixel camera is placed at the front also accompanied with a LED flash. Besides 4G VoLTE, other connectivity options included are Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi, 3G, 2G, GPS, and USB OTG.

It measures 142.5×69.9×8.73mm, weighs 150 grams, and is powered by a 3000mAh non-removable battery. The YUREKA BLACK is painted in Matte Black color with smooth finish and Chrome Black color with glossy finish.
