Samsung Galaxy Wide 2

After bombarding the west with lots of moderately-specd Galaxy smartphones in the past few weeks, Samsung has moved to the far east—to its home country South-Korea to be precise, to debuts a new smartphone called Galaxy Wide 2, an improved variant of last year Galaxy Wide.

The phone bearing a model number SM-J727S is up for grab for KRW 297,000 (US$265) on SK Telecom and is expected to be embrace by other network carriers in the region who may offer it for as low as KRW 100,000 (US$90). The "J7" in its model number (SM-J727S) also hint it may launch outside South Korea as Galaxy J7 (2017) though there is no confirmation on this yet.

Moving on, in terms of specifications, the Galaxy Wide 2 features a 5.5-inch touch display with HD (1280x720) resolution and 267ppi pixel density. It is driven by an unspecified octa-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz, clubbed with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 256GB via MicroSD card.

The smartphone runs Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box. At the rear, it is equipped with a 13-megapixel autofocus camera with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash, while it houses a 5-megapixel camera at the front for selfie and video-calling. Connectivity options included with the device are 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, 3G, 2G, and GPS.

The Galaxy Wide 2 measures 151.5×76.4×8.6mm, weighs 170 grams, and is powered by a 3,300mAh battery.
