Asus ZenFone Pegasus 3S

Asus has silently launched a new budget smartphone under its "ZenFone" line-up in China called ZenFone Pegasus 3S, a new variant of Pegasus 3 that was introduced in June last year. There have been some major changes when compare with its predecessor, starting from screen size to the built-in battery.

The ZenFone Pegasus 3S packs a gigantic 5,000mAh battery that is claimed to deliver up to 30 days of standby time, an upgrade from 4,100mAh battery on its predecessor. Also, this features a 5.2-inch 2.5D curved display instead of 5.0-inch, boasting an HD (1280x720) resolution and pixel density of 282ppi. The phone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6750 processor clocked at 1.5GHz, slammed with 3GB of RAM and Mali-T860 GPU. It comes in 32GB and 64GB storage options, both expandable via MicroSD card (up to 2TB).

Perhaps the most notable feature of Asus ZenFone Pegasus 3S is Android 7.0 Nougat it runs out-of-the-box, which makes it Asus first device to do so. The OS is layed on top with the firm proprietary ZenUI 3.1. In addition, it also sports a fingerprint sensor beneath the home button for online transaction and security. In photography, there is a 13-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, and twin-LED flash at the rear, while a 5-megapixel camera is placed at the front. On the connectivity front, the smartphone supports 4G VoLTE, 3G, 2G, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, and GPS.

The 64GB storage variant is priced at CNY 1999 (roughly $292) while the pricing details of 32GB storage variant is not revealed. It is expected to go on sale in China soon.
