Meizu has decided not to go for Android but instead opted for Alibaba's YunOS 5.1 with Flyme OS 5.5 on top for enhanced user experience. In photography, the Meizu M5 sports a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), f/2.2 aperture, and dual-tone LED flash, while it is equipped at the front with a 5-megapixel camera for taking selfie.

On the connectivity front, the device supports 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, WiFi, 3G, GPRS/EDGE, GPS/A-GPS, and GLONASS. It is fuelled by a 3070mAh battery.

Painted in Glacier White, Champagne Gold, Sapphire Blue, Mint Green, and Matt Black colours, the Meizu M5 2GB RAM + 16GB storage variant is priced at CNY 699 ($103) while the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage variant costs CNY 899 ($132). It is available for pre-orders and will start shipping in November.
