Phantom 6 and Phantom 6 Plus

Tecno has officially taken the wraps off its latest smartphones in the Phantom series, not in Lagos Nigeria this time around but in United Arab Emirate, at an event organized by the company to mark the 10th anniversary of its existence. The Phantom 6 and Phantom 6 Plus which judging by their specs are Tecno first high-end smartphones this year will not be arriving to Nigeria first as most of their device does, but in UAE.

So, what has caused this huge turnaround? The simple answer is Tecno is expanding its portfolio to other regions. With most countries in Africa already in contained, the firm is planning moving its suit of products to Asia and Middle East markets. Infinix Mobility, another Chinese company who has been Tecno strong competitor in Africa already dominated some of these markets, but with Tecno diving in, well, things are beginning to get tighter. Innjoo maintains of most these of markets though.

The Phantom 6 and Phantom 6 Plus naming might give you the impression that both device are nearly the same or share most of their specifications, but this is not true. Infact, the second differs alot from the first. The Phantom 6 comes with a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080p) display and is powered by a MediaTek Helio P10 processor, the Phantom 6 Plus on the hand boast a larger 6-inch full-HD display and is powered by a more powerful 10-core MediaTek Helio X20 processor.

Another notable difference between the two device are their RAM, storage capacity, and battery. The Phantom 6 maintains same RAM (3GB) and storage (32GB) as Phantom 5 its predecessor, but the Phantom 6 Plus houses 4GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage, though both includes external MicroSD expansion slots with support of up to 128GB. In the battery segment, the Phantom 6 packs a 2700mAh battery and the Phantom 6 Plus a larger 4050mAh battery.

The Phantom 6 comes with dual rear-facing cameras but the Plus version misses on this. Both offers USB Type-C ports, eye scanners and fingerprint sensors.
