Samsung today has silently introduced a new smartphone with entry-level specs in its hometown, South Korea, dubbed Galaxy Wide, with model name SM-G600S. Though its naming is entirely different from the "Galaxy On" series, the phone is believed to be an enhance variant of the Galaxy On7 that was released in China in October last year, which bears the model name of SM-G600.

In terms of specifications, the Galaxy Wide features 5.5-inch TFT display with a HD resolution of 1280x720 pixels. It is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset with a clock speed of 1.2GHz, coupled with 2GB of RAM and Adreno 306 GPU. It includes a 16GB of internal storage, which is further expandable via MicroSD card.

The phone boots Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box topped with the company's TouchWiz UI, and notably, it supports T-DMB (Terrestrial Media Multimedia Broadcasting) that enables users to watch offline/local-based TV. A 13-megapixel camera with LED flash is equipped at the rear for taking those beautiful moments, and a 5-megapixel selfie camera at the front. Connectivity options included are 3G, 2G, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS and Micro-USB. 4G LTE is also expected to be onboard but there is no official confirmation on that yet. A 3000mAh turn it on.

The Samsung Galaxy Wide wears a price tag of KRW 319,000 ($276 USD) and will be available on retailers shelves in coming days. Availability outside Korea is unknown.
