Meizu MX6

At an event organized by Meizu earlier today in China, the company has officially took the wraps off its latest smartphone, MX6, a succesor to MX5 launched in June last year. Wrapped in a full metal body that measure 7.25mm at its thickest point, the device features a 5.5-inch LCD display made by Sharp, with full-HD (1920x1080) resolution, flaunting a pixel density of 401ppi and 1500:1 contrast ratio.

It is driven by a 64-bit deca-core MediaTek X20 processor with a clock speed of 2.3GHz, slammed with 4GB of RAM and Mali-880 GPU. The phone includes a 32GB of built-in storage, and there are two SIM slots onboard for dual use. Flyme OS 5.5 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow governs all internal process and software activities, and a fingerprint sensor that make use of the company's proprietary mTouch 2.1 technology is embedded beneath the physical home button for biometric authentication and secure mobile payments (supports AliPay and WeChat).

The most interesting aspect of Meizu new born baby is its camera, the MX6 camera is the first to use Sony IMX386 sensor. It boasts a 12-megapixel back shooter with f/2.0 aperture, Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), and dual-tone LED flash in addition to IMX386, and also bears a 5-megapixel camera at the front. Connectivity options included are 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (dual band), and USB Type-C. It is backed by a 3060mAh battery with mCharge fast charging.

The Meizu MX6 will go on pre-orders starting today in China at CNY 1999 (approx $300 USD), and will start shipping from 30th of July. It comes in Gold, Silver, Pink and Grey colours.
