Tecno PhonePad 7 II

Tecno Mobile has officially takes the wraps off its new tablet under its newly introduced PhonePad series in Nigeria and other West Africa regions. The PhonePad 7 II as named, is a 7-inch Android tablet that supports voice-calling and offers 4G LTE network connectivity. We may as well consider it as a successor of Droipad 7C released by the company in June last year, as they both sports nearly identical specs in some key areas. Though Tecno seems to have done a great job on the outside look, but the plastic body still remains. This month marks exactly a year Droipad 7C was launched, another solid reason to believe the PhonePad 7 II is here to take its place.

Its full specs sheet is still behind the curtain, but Tecno is not discreet enough not to open up the device important key specifications. Sitting at the front is a 7-inch IPS capacitive touch display with a below-average resolution of 1024x600 pixels and a pixel density of 170ppi. It is powered by a quad-core processor (probably MediaTek) clocked at 1.3Ghz, coupled with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage, which is expandable up to 32GB via MicroSD card.

The tablet runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box, and there are two SIM slots onboard with dual standby. A 5-megapixel camera with LED flash is equipped at the rear, and a 2-megapixel camera at the front, also accompanied with a LED flash. Apart from 4G LTE, the PhonePad 7 II supports Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi with Hotspot, 3G, 2G, GPS, and USB with OTG. It is backed by a 4100mAh battery.

The Tecno PhonePad 7II is expected to go on sale later this month in Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria and other selected markets. No words regarding pricing.
