Lava A79

Lava has launched A79, its latest entry-level smartphone in India. The device features a 5.5-inch IPS display with a rather poor FWVGA (854x480) resolution. A quad-core processor (unspecified) clocked at 1.3GHz powered it on the inside, coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of built-in storage. Users are giving the option to further expand the storage via MicroSD card slot onboard (up to 32GB).

The phone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and also supports dual SIM functionality with dual-Standby. At the rear, it is equipped with a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, while a 2-megapixel camera sits at the front, also accompanied with a LED flash. The A79 offers Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi with Hotspot, 3G, 2G, GPS, FM radio and Micro-USB as connectivity options but misses on 4G LTE. It is fuelled by a 2200mAh battery.

The Lava A79 wears a price tag of Rs 5,699 ($85 USD). It will be available in Gold and Grey colours when it go on sale later this week.
