Infinix Hot 3 X553 and X554

Infinix Mobility has launched Hot 3, its latest budget smartphone in Nigeria and other selected markets including Thailand and Kenya. The device comes in two variants, 3G and LTE. The 3G variant has a model name of X554 while the LTE variant has a model name of X553. The 3G version is currently available for pre-orders in Nigeria on e-commerce website Jumia, however, there is no details regarding its pricing and availability.

The Infinix Hot 3 is an upgraded version and successor of Hot 2 X510 launched in August last year. The 3G version dubbed Hot 3 X554 packs a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6580 chipset, while the LTE version (X553) is powered by a 64-bit 1.4GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 415 chipset. Besides the difference in their processor, the X554 only offers 3G while X553 supports 4G LTE connectivity. Also, the X554 sports a 2MP front camera unlike X553 which has 5MP front camera, both supported with a LED flash. All other specifications remains the same.

The smartphone features a 5.5-inch IPS display which is 0.5-inch larger than the one on its predecessor, but sports same HD (1280x720 pixels) resolution. Infinix is offering the Hot 3 in 1GB RAM and 2GB RAM versions, both accompanied with an expandable 16GB of built-in storage. The phone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box and support dual-SIM functionality.

Sitting at the rear is an 8-megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash. The camera comes with various settings and enhancements such as face detection, HDR, panorama e.t.c to make picture quality better. Connectivity options included are Bluetooth, Wifi with Hotspot, 4G LTE (optional), 3G HSPA+, GPRS/EDGE, GPS/A-GPS, and USB with OTG. It is fuelled by a 3000mAh non-removable battery.
