HP Chromebook 13

Few weeks after Acer launched its moderately-specd Chromebook 14, HP has stepped forward to unleash its latest Chrome laptop, Chromebook 13, boasting a high-end specifications both on the inside and the outside. Much like notebooks released by HP these days, the device sports a very slim body that measure just 12.9mm at its thickest point, and is covered on the lid and the chassis by an anodized aluminium for premium feel.

It sports a 13.3-inch QHD display flaunting a high pixel resolution of 3200x1800, something uncommon in Chrome laptop history. And what can be more tantalizing, HP claims the Chromebook 13 is the first Chrome laptop to packs a sixth-generation Intel Core M processor, and can be configured with up to 16GB of RAM. While Chrome operating system will swiftly and happily run on lowest type of processors such as Celeron and Pentium without glitches, the Core M chosen by HP here really put us to thought. This reminds us of rumours flying around earlier this week about Google planning to bring Play Store to Chrome OS, which means, Chrome laptops will be fully capable of running Android applications. If that's the case, which we believe it is considering what HP just dropped to the planet Earth, then the Core M is definitely planted there before time is ripe for Chrome to meet its sister. You know what we are thinking? Serious gaming.

Besides its powerful processor, the Chromebook 13 also comes with latest array of connectivity options, these includes 2x USB Type-C ports, USB 3.0 port, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1, MicroSD card reader and 3.5mm audio jack. Optional HP Elite USB Type-C Docking station brings desktop solution onboard and there is Bang & Olufsen enhanced dual speakers placed above the keyboard for immense audio experience. It is powered by a 44Whr battery with fast charging. HP claims the battery can deliver up to 11.5 hours of use on a single charge.

The HP Chromebook 13 comes with a starting price of $499 USD for basic configuration, extending up to $1,029 USD for maximum configuration. It will start shipping sometime in April.
