Micromax Unveils Bolt Q331, Bolt S302 Low-Cost Smartphones with 3G

Micromax Bolt Q331

Micromax has unveiled two new low cost smartphones under its Bolt series in India, Bolt Q331 and Bolt S302. Both devices are listed on the company webpage without pricing and availability. We expect it to be officially announce in coming days.

The Bolt Q331 which takes the lead features a 5-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display with FWVGA (480 x 854 pixels) resolution, and runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box. It is driven by a quad-core Spreadtrum SC7731G processor clocked at 1.2GHz alongside with 512MB of RAM.

A 4GB storage is placed inside which is further expandable via MicroSD (up to 32GB). The dual SIM enabled Bolt Q331 packs a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash at the rear, while it harbours a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Connectivity options included are 3G (HSPA+), GPRS/EDGE, Bluetooth 4.0, Wifi, GPS, Micro-USB and FM radio. It is backed by a 2,000mAh battery which the firm claims can deliver up to 6 hours of talk time and 200 hours of standby time.

The Micromax Bolt S302 on the other hand, is the successor of Bolt S301 launched in July. It features a 4-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen display with WVGA (480 x 800 pixels) resolution, and also runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box. It is powered by a 1GHz Spreadtrum SC7715 processor coupled with 512MB of RAM.

There is a 4GB storage equipped inside which is expandable up to 32GB via MicroSD card. A 2-megapixel camera take hold of the upper rear area accompanied with LED flash, while a 1.3-megapixel camera sits at the front. On the connectivity front, the dual SIM enabled Bolt S302 support Bluetooth 4.0, Wifi, 3G, 2G, aGPS, Micro-USB, and FM radio. A 1450mAh battery turn it on. According to Micromax, the battery can deliver up to 4 hours of talk time and 200 hours of standby time.

Update

Micromax has officially launched Bolt Q331 and Bolt S302 in India. The first is priced at Rs 4,999 ($77 USD) and the second at Rs 3,199 ($49 USD). Both will be available starting this week.
