Archos Diamond Tab

Archos on Wednesday announced three smartphones which were expected to be showcase at IFA next week. The firm however has again unveiled a new high-budget Android tablet called Diamond Tab. Nothing is said regarding its pricing and availability, but we expect more details to erupt next week during the event as it will be showcase too.

The new Diamond Tab by the French phone maker supports voice calling and offers 4G LTE. It features a 7.9-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display with QXGA (2048 x 1536 pixel) resolution. It is powered by a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek MT8752 processor with a clock speed of 1.7GHz backed with 3GB of RAM.

The tablet runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box and includes a 32GB of internal storage with no word on external storage support. A 5-megapixel camera is equipped at the rear while a 2-megapixel snapper sits at the front. On the connectivity front, the Diamond Tab support Bluetooth 4.0, Wifi (dual-band), 3G, and GPS besides 4G LTE. Its battery capacity still remains under-wrapped.

More information has reached us. The Archos Diamond Tab storage is expandable up to 32GB via MicroSD card, it also packs a 4,800mAh battery. The device wears a price cap of £179 (US$275) and will be available from October in selected markets.
