Archos Announces Diamond S, 50 Cesium and 50e Helium Ahead Of IFA

Archos Diamond S

In preparation ahead of IFA event that will kick off next week, the french phone maker Archos has launched three new budget smartphones named Diamond S, 50 Cesium and 50e Helium, priced at £159 ($249), £99 ($155), and £99 ($155) respectively. The three device will be showcase at IFA where their availability is expected to be announce.

The Archos Diamond S features a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor with a clock speed of 1.5GHz coupled with 2GB of RAM and Mali T720MP3 GPU. There is a 16GB of built-in storage onboard which is expandable via MicroSD card (up to 32GB).

The Diamond S runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box and offers dual-SIM functionality with 4G LTE support. It sports a 16-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash which is capable of recording full-HD (1080p) video, while an 8-megapixel camera is placed at the front for selfie. Connectivity options included besides 4G LTE are Bluetooth 4.0, Wifi, 3G, GPRS/EDGE, GPS/A-GPS, and Micro-USB. It is backed by a 2,300mAh battery.

Archos 50 Cesium
On the other hand, the Archos 50 Cesium and 50e Helium both sports identical specifications but runs different operating system. The first runs Windows 10 Mobile out-of-the-box while 50e Helium runs Android 5.1 Lollipop. Both smartphones features a 5-inch IPS HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display and packs a 1.1GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor coupled with 1GB of RAM.

These includes an 8GB of built-in storage with external storage support and has 8-megapixel autofocus camera equipped at the rear with LED flash, while 2-megapixel camera sits at the front. Connectivity options includes Bluetooth 4.0, Wifi, 4G LTE, 3G, GPRS/EDGE, GPS/A-GPS, and Micro-USB. The 50 Cesium and 50e Helium both support dual-SIM and comes with 2,100mAh battery.
