Lava Joins Android One Segment With Pixel V1 Budget Lollipop Smartphone

Google introduced Android One initiative in India last year by partnering with three phone manufacturers. Today, Lava will be joining the group with its new Pixel V1 smartphone. The device which is expected to be announce today has been unhooded by a third-party retailer, listing its full specifications ahead of official launching.

The Lava Pixel V1 features a 5.5-inch IPS display with a resolution HD resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It offers dual-SIM functionality and runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor clocked at 1.3GHz alongside with 2GB of RAM and Mali 400 MP2 GPU.

It houses an 8-megapixel rear camera accompanied with LED flash and BSI sensor that can capture image in 13-megapixel resolution via a pre-loaded interpolated software, while a secondary 5-megapixel camera is placed at the front with 8MP image resolution capturing via same process. The Lava Pixel V1 comes with a huge 32GB of built-in storage which can be further expanded up to 32GB via MicroSD card.

On the connectivity front, the device support Bluetooth 4.0, Wifi, 3G (HSPA+), GPRS/EDGE, GPS, FM radio, and Micro-USB with OTG. It is backed by a 2,650mAh battery.

Lava has finally officially announced Pixel V1. The smartphone carries a price tag of Rs 11,350 ($177 USD) and will be exclusively available on Flipkart starting from today 27th of July. It comes in White touched with Silver, and Gold color variants.
