Blackberry Leap

Blackberry has just plastered suprise to peoples face at MWC with the launch of a new Blackberry smartphone dubbed as Leap. We didn't see it coming and we believe we're not the only one who get struck when the phone was held up. Though its been rumoured lately but nobody expect it go live on stage today.

The Blackberry Leap is a full touchscreen smartphone with no Qwerty keypad onboard. The reasons why the QWERTY is being eliminated in this device is not clear to us but that doesn't affect its gorgeous look and design. It features a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS display and runs the newly released Blackberry OS 10 version 10.3.1 out-of-the-box.

Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8960 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and Adreno 305 GPU. There is an 8-megapixel autofocus camera at the rear while it also touts a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.

The Blackberry Leap sports a 16GB built-in storage which is expandable up to 128GB via MicroSD card and offers 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, Wifi, 3G, 2G, GPS/A-GPS, and Micro-USB as connectivity options. It is backed by a 2800mAh battery which is rated to deliver up 25 hours of talk time.

Blackberry also noted that the Leap was created with high security standard and comes with built-malware protection. All the juices that comes along with OS 10 version 10.3.1 are not left out which include Amazon App store, Blackberry Blend, and Blackberry Hub. Availability and pricing are yet to be announced.
