Last month, Asus launched a new variant to its Zenfone series, the Zenfone 2, but the firm seems to have a new version at work that will sports a smaller display and a lower processor.

Unlike previous release which runs Android 4.4 KitKat, the new variant with model number ZE500CL is touted to run Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box and features a 5-inch HD (720p) display which is 0.5-inch smaller than the display on Zenfone 2 (ZE551ML). Other specifications revealed include a 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, 8-megapixel rear camera, and 2-megapixel front camera.

The Zenfone 2 (ZE500CL) will also support 4G LTE like its brother and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 will be there to protect the main display. 2500mAh battery will turns the phone on.

On Wednesday, Asus launched a new version of its Fonepad series, the FonePad 7 (FE375CL). The 7-inch tablet runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box and support 4G LTE. It offers voice calling option via a dedicated SIM card slot and a quad-core Intel processor powers it. However, availability remains unknown.
