Kodak IM5

Kodak, well known for their long forgotten outstanding cameras has ventured into mobile market, the firm quit camera production long time ago due to some reasons we won't want to find out and are trampled on by competitors like Samsung, Canon and Sony, but alas they seems to have wake up from their long sleep.

Kodak in partnership with British firm Bullit has launched its first Android smartphone dubbed as IM5, the phone was officially unveiled on Tuesday at CES event in Las Vegas and will hit global market before Q2 2015 at $249 (Roughly #46,000 NGN).

Kodak IM5 Specifications

Kodak IM5 may not be very impressing when compared with some mid-end smartphones but it do possess some personalities you may have never seen in other phones. The smartphone features a 5-inch HD (720*1280 pixels) IPS display and runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box which the firm claims is upgradeable to Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The Kodak IM5 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek processor with a clock speed of 1.7GHz coupled with 1GB of RAM and packs an 8GB built-in storage which can be further expanded via MicroSD card (up to 32GB).

The highlight of the device is its camera, their seems nothing to impress us has it sports what we might consider as "normal", a 13-megapixel snapper at the rear and 5-megapixel shooter at the front, but Kodak claims the phone comes with "best image editing and management software" wow! That's worth taking a look at.

What's more? The smartphone features Kodak own App store for easy access to compatible apps and there's also Google Play Store onboard as well. Connectivity options included are Wifi, Bluetooth 4.0, 3G, GPS/A-GPS, GPRS/EDGE, FM radio and Micro-USB. Battery capacity still remains undisclose but we expect something huge to be there.
