Samsung Launches Galaxy Note 4 S-LTE with Cat.6 And Cat.9 Support

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 S-LTE

Samsung on Monday has launched an upgraded series of its Galaxy Note 4 in South Korea dubbed as Galaxy Note 4 S-LTE. According to the firm, the Galaxy Note 4 S-LTE is the world's first LTE Advanced Tri-Band Carrier Aggregation smartphone, capable of combining three different frequency bands into a single connection.

The device offers 4G LTE of Category 6 (Cat.6) that can render a download speed of up to 300Mbps and also support Category 9 (Cat.9) with up to 450Mbps download speed. However, Category 9 is yet to be commercially available on network carriers. The smartphone will goes on sale in January next year while the firm is yet to disclose its pricing, availability for global market is not yet known.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 S-LTE Specifications

The Galaxy Note 4 S-LTE specifications is identical with Galaxy Note 4 except the first support 4G LTE Cat.6 while the second does not. The device features a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display with Quad-HD resolution of 1440x2560 pixels. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box and packs a 32GB built-in storage which is expandable up to 64GB via MicroSD card.

The Galaxy Note 4 S-LTE touts a 16-megapixel rear camera with flashlight and sports a 3.7-megapixel front camera. Connectivity options included are Wifi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, GPRS/EDGE, GPS, GLONASS, MHL 3.0, Infra-red sensor and USB 2.0. Processor inside remains undisclose, it'll be a big hit if it packs Qualcomm latest 64-bit Snapdragon 810 chipset but we will rather not put our mind to that, they knows how to play their games well.

In October, the firm launched dual-SIM variant of Galaxy Note 4 in China named as Galaxy Note 4 Duos.
