Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime

The Korean tech giant Samsung has launch a new Android smartphone under its Grand series in India, the Galaxy Grand Prime. The phone will be available at Rs 15,499 (roughly $259) starting from Wednesday.

The Galaxy Grand Prime features a 5-inch qHD TFT display and runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box. It is powered by a quad-core processor (unknown chipset), clocked at 1.2GHz along with 1GB of RAM. There is 8GB internal storage onboard that can be expanded up to 64GB via MicroSD card.

The smartphone sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and 5-megapixel front camera for selfie shot. Connectivity options included with the Galaxy Grand Prime are WiFi, Bluetooth, 3G, GPS, and Micro-USB. It's backed by 2,600mAh battery.

Last week, Samsung metal-clad Galaxy Alpha hit India at Rs 39,990 (approximately $668), the phone features a fingerprint scanner and runs Android 4.4 KitKat.
