Philips Unveils 55-inch 4K Ultra-HD Android Powered TV With Google Play Access

Philips 8900 Curved Android TV

This is not the first time Philips launched an Android TV, the first Android TV to be launch by the firm is a 65-inch 65PUS8098. The company has unveiled a new Android Powered TV at the ongoing IFA event, the Philips 8900.

The new Android TV features a 55-inch 4K Ultra-HD display and runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with Google Play Store access. It comes with a dedicated gesture control remote with an integrated camera.

Connectivity options included with the Philips 8900 are 3 USB ports, 4 HDMI ports, AV output, Ethernet ports, YPbPr port, and dual-band Wifi. Pricing details has not been revealed , the Philips Android TV will start shipping in Q3 of this year.
