Blackberry 10 R BlackBerry is preparing a new budget QWERTY handset based on its best-selling Curve device. The new phone was said to comes with the latest BlackBerry 10 OS, but have a pared down spec sheet in order to keep costs low. The news comes from the fan site BlackBerry OS, which claims to have snagged an image of the blower, as well as some key details. Dubbed the BlackBerry R Series, the phone will pack 8GB of Inbuilt storage, with less RAM than the recently revealed BlackBerry Z10. That, along with a lower screen resolution, should help to keep the price down and give BlackBerry a much-needed fillip in the youth market. Its Curve helped fuel the boom in its BBM service among teenagers. BlackBerry has had a solid start to 2013, with its Z10 shifting over a million units in its first month on sale. The phone, and its rejigged operating system, have been well-received critically. It comes at a vital time for the Canadian company, as HTC and Nokia also look to bounce back in the smartphone space.
