Nikon, Olympus and Sony have recently released hand cameras Nikon V1, Olympus PEN E-3 and Sony NEX – 7 respectively. All of three brands have its own unique features and entered market recently with unique features and innovation. All of these three brands are strong rival with each other and leading in camera market with wide ranges. Let’s talk about little brief, Nikon V1 is challenging on its design, and small in size but gives you best performance with solidity, reliability with features as well as simplicity in style. Olympus has made much improved and came with E-P3 after P1 & P2 series. The design of P3 is much similar with P1 and P2, but P3 has built up very much strong with mental construction quality wise that gives you sense of durability as well as it has made change in Pop flash & dial mode than P2 series. Olympus believes that it will give best result to consumers with new model PEN E-P3 and also sturdily compete with Samsung NX & Panasonic G series. Sony has released new compact camera NEX-7 series with world’s fastest sensor time lag and 24 megapixels which is highest than Nikon V1 & Olympus PEN E-P3. Sony NEX-7 has released new design magnesium alloy which looks pretty as well as light in weight.

Sensor size:-

Nikon V1 has very smallest sensor which is known as CMOS sensor with 13.2 x 8.8 mm while Olympus PEN is using micro - four third size sensors which is low size sensor than Nikon V1. And Sony NEX-7 has very biggest sensor as well as world’s fastest which is known as APS - C size sensor. Sony NEX is biggest not only in sensor but also biggest in megapixels this time, yes Sony NEX has 24 megapixels, and Olympus PEN E-P3 has 12 megapixels while Nikon V1 has only 10 megapixels. Sony NEX – 7 is ahead in terms of sensor size. Despite of small sensor and megapixels, Nikon is challenging in terms of quality and performance wise.

Electronic view finder (EVF):-

Sony NEX-7 has awesome feature of view finder which is know as XGA OLED True Finder , it is offering as well as challenging that it view finder covers 100% frame coverage with wide field of view, It has displayed clearly on screen grid lines and level gauge. You can easily record full HD movie with 25p or 50p frame rates, it has given 7.5 cm extra fine LCD on rear side where you can be angle down 90 degrees or 45 degrees. And, now you will also be getting P/A/S/M exposure mode for video shooting. It can say the other unique feature of Sony NEX – 7 is that NEX-7 has highest burst shooting speed with interchangeable lens camera where itcan able to ease capturing images at 10 fps.
Olympus PEN has not available in builtEVF (view finder) , but it has given an accessory port where you can access it and PEN E-P3 has two – axis electronic level which will maintain horizon level and ease to operate when camera is on landscape or upright mode. You can record video in AVCHD or motion JPEG format.

Nikon V1 has also high resolution EVF on backside of screen despite of small size, it gives obviously good resolution, quick refresh, brittle coverage etc. because Sony is supplying EVF to Nikon which is available in Sony NEX.

Screen:-

Sony NEX- 7 has 3 inch LCD screen with tilts, Olympus PEN has 3 inch OLED with touch screen which will be using to change quickly focus point aswell as other functions and Olympus is using capacitive touch screen which is well advanced and operate very quickly. Basically, there are available two types of touch screen like Resistive and Capacitive, Resistive screens where it has two electrically conductive layer and when a finger touch those two layer together, at that time touch will detect and device will respond accordingly. Capacitive screens where it ha an electrically conductive surface coating and when it is touching by human skin, device respond accordingly. Apple iPhone is also using capacitive touch screen and Panasonic is using still resistive touch screen.
Nikon V1 has TFT LCD screen, it has neither tilts screen nor any touch screen, but Nikon is using touch screen for its Coolpix brand.

Speed & performance:-

Nikon V1 is challenging that it has world fastest speed and performance because it has XPEED 3 processor which is much faster than DX3 DSLR where camera can shoot easily up to 60 frames per second and it has also AF system which works well in phase detection AF & Contrast detection AF system. As well, Olympus PEN E-P3 is also claiming same that faster like Nikon and that’s true.
Sony NEX – 7 has also good speed 10 fps during the shooting in row which is really nice and gives you good result.
